Thomas Bijl (28) runs the shop together with Geeske Smit (47), who also stands with her stall 'De Marktslager' at the Vismarkt three times a week. Thomas is the face of Lente, Geeske supports him. Together they possess a wealth of knowledge. Geeske can tell you everything about cold cuts, of course. And Thomas is a vegetable, fruit, and herb specialist.

Fresh Takeaway Meals

And cooking, he does that at Lente too. Fresh takeaway meals, every day, from now on. On Wednesday, these included Indonesian Rendang, Shashuka, a Middle Eastern dish, and salad with buffalo mozzarella. "Cooking, that's what it's ultimately about for me," he says enthusiastically. "We use products from the shop. Nothing goes to waste here."

Extension of the Market

So, a market-style shop. That's how the owners describe Lente. Why does Grunn need this? "Look how busy it is at the market," says Geeske. "We are an extension of the market." Because it's not market day every day. But Lente is now open (almost) every day.
